San Mateo Backyard Wedding

These two shared their backyard wedding day with 13 of their closest friends and family (and their two pugs!). One thing I LOVE about small, intimate weddings, is that I truly feel like I’m a part of the family. That might sound weird, and I’m fully aware that I’m there to do a job as well lol, but I’m sharing in all the little joys of the day, too. It’s just a really sweet feeling.

Witnessing Ollie’s Nona as the cute spitfire she is; this was a huge highlight! She reminded me of my late grampa and it warmed my heart, even when she scolded me for taking her photo (how dare I?!) haha.

My photographer heart was so happy to see this backyard. The lighting was great, there were places to take sunset photos, and the light inside Nona’s home for “getting ready pictures” was perfect. Sometimes you don’t need a “perfect” venue. Sometimes you just need your favorite people and love. <3 I’m so happy with these photos and it kicked off my wedding season in the most beautiful way!
